A notebook, not a miracle
Our class blog asked a simple question: what helps us begin our homework? I decided to keep a small notebook for one week. I wrote down the time, the place and any distractions. I did not give myself a score or compare my results with other students.
I noticed a pattern. If my phone makes a sound, I usually look at it. When I put it in another room, I check it less often. However, that does not mean I finish every task quickly. Some tasks are difficult because I need to understand a new idea, not because my phone is nearby.
My friend Sara tried a different habit. If a question seems too large, she writes the first small step on paper. She says that this helps her start. It does not solve the question for her.
At the end of the week, we shared our observations. Our teacher reminded us that seven days and two people cannot prove a rule for everyone. We can describe our own experience and try a useful change, but we should not advertise our notes as a miracle method. The most helpful result was learning to notice what we actually do.
