Notice: River Day
Our school nature club is holding a River Day on Saturday. We will meet at the park entrance at ten, and an adult supervisor will explain the activities. You do not need to be a club member to take part, but students must bring the permission form before Friday.
If the weather is dry, one group will photograph plants from the public path. Another group will collect light litter in the marked area. The supervisor will provide bags and explain which objects students may pick up. If you see broken glass, needles or anything you cannot identify, do not touch it. Tell an adult instead. Nobody will go into the water.
If heavy rain makes the paths unsafe, we will work in the school hall. We will compare photographs, design signs and discuss ways to reduce litter. The event will not simply disappear from our timetable.
Please bring water and suitable clothes. We will post the final meeting place on the school noticeboard on Friday afternoon. Do not rely on an old screenshot: check the latest notice. Our aim is to help the river while keeping volunteers safe.
