Когда планы изменились: история
Our class was walking towards the local museum when our teacher received a message. The museum had a water problem and could not welcome groups that morning. We were not far from school, so the teacher stopped us in a safe place and explained the change. Some pupils felt disappointed because they were looking forward to the visit.
While the teacher was discussing options with another adult, we looked at our prepared questions. Most questions were about how people find and check information about the past. We realised that we could begin part of the project in the school library. We returned to school and worked with a small collection of local-history materials.
The library activity did not replace everything a museum visit could offer. However, it helped us practise checking dates and comparing descriptions. Later, the teacher arranged another visit. Our original plan changed, but the learning goal still helped us choose a useful next step.
