Our class made an experience wall. Each pupil wrote about a familiar activity and another activity they wanted to try. I wrote, 'I have built a bridge model, but I have never tried pottery.' My friend asked when I built the model, so I explained that I made it at a workshop last winter. The wall was not a competition. An experience did not have to be expensive or far from home. One pupil knew how to repair a torn book cover with an adult. Another had read a short story to a younger cousin. We asked questions and discovered useful ideas. I have now chosen a new challenge: I want to give clear instructions for a simple paper model. My friend will test them with me.
