Presenter: Our final practice report compares attendance at two fictional evening sessions. The first had eighteen participants and space for thirty. Reviewer: Your first sentence says that the second session was twice as successful. Which calculation supports that?

Presenter: None. I need to revise it. The second session had two more participants, and eighty per cent of its places were used. The first used sixty per cent. The difference in occupancy is twenty percentage points, not proof that overall success doubled.

Reviewer: Good. What does success mean in this report?

Presenter: That is another question we need to define. If the goal is filling available places, occupancy is relevant. If the goal is helping people complete a task, we need evidence about their activities and outcomes. Attendance alone does not tell us that.

Reviewer: Were the sessions otherwise comparable?

Presenter: Not completely. One began at five and the other at six. They also offered different activities. We can mention these differences, but we cannot identify a single cause of the attendance pattern from two cases.

Reviewer: What would improve the next comparison?

Presenter: We could collect information over several similar sessions and ask a short optional question about the reason for attending. In a real project, we would explain the purpose and avoid collecting unnecessary personal details. We should also consider people who wanted to attend but could not come.

Reviewer: Then your conclusion should include the two counts, the occupancy comparison and the limits. Keep a possible explanation separate from a measured result.

Presenter: I will. The report will also label the dataset as fictional, show the totals clearly and suggest a follow-up question. A careful conclusion can be useful without pretending that a small exercise answers every planning question.
